Cabin Fever ROGAINE 2010 Cabin Fever ROGAINE 2010

Record snowstorm in Ohio does not halt The Cabin Fever ROGAINE!! Despite heavy snowfall in most Ohio counties adventures drove for hours through nearly and sometimes impassible roads!! At least the 82 racers that braved the storm to experience an absolute beautiful snow covered forest. It was white everywhere while racers trekked through 6-7 inches of fresh untouched snow. The 56 racers that could not get out of their hometown missed an awesome day of navigation.

Race of Hope 2010 Race of Hope 2010

Preparing for this event for the third year we faced HOT, HUMID, stormy conditions and a ugly forecast. Luckily we ended with a great summer day of adventure at Lake Hope. This year we added an 8 hour ROGAINE event to coincide with our usual 8 hour adventure race. Again this event featured wet feet complimates of a large quanity of beavers that supply us with swamp features. The first swamp crossing is always the toughest, no one likes to give up their dry feet and shorts and backpack, yes, we got a lot of rain leading up to the event which supplied plenty of cool water. The wading was very welcomed at the end of the day as racers traveled through our course. The course proved to be very challenging but did not claim any quiters this year. We had a few mechanical breakdowns, but every one completed the course this year.

Green Corn Moon ROGAINE Green Corn Moon ROGAINE

This summer has been very HOT and HUMID so we expected a night of sweating and dehydration. We were blessed with great weather, mid 60's and low humidity.
Racers traveled 100's of miles to experience a fun night of navigation in The Great Seal State Park. Everyone took off at 10 pm to begin their 8 hour journey into the darkness. The first challenge rose quickly, "How do we get out of this disc golf area??" Many struggled to get out and few struggled to get back through the multitude of trails surrounding the start/finish. (ask Jake). 25 checkpoints proved to be plenty to keep everyone busy for the full 8 hours. Many were placed on trails and most were hidden in reentrants and spurs. Only Jake was able to locate CP 80, good job. Cp80 also became Rage against the Cutoff's demise after spending too much time there cost him a late arrival. Better luck next time.
